KEVIN P. KLIBERT ATTORNEY AT LAW

Kevin graduated from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor of science degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. While there, he earned the Honor Student Honor Award. After college, he taught high school science for two years, and discovered his passion was helping people who were injured and then victimized again by insurance companies. He then began studying at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.

After graduating from the LSU Law Center, he clerked for the Honorables Madeline Jasmine, Mary Hotard Becnel and J. Sterling Snowdy at the 40th Judicial District Court in St. John the Baptist Parish. Being afforded the opportunity to clerk for three district court judges, he was able to witness countless motions and numerous civil and criminal trials and those experiences confirmed what he already knew – he wanted to try cases and represent people who were injured or treated unjustly.

During his tenure as a law clerk, Kevin met who would become one of his greatest mentors, legendary trial lawyer Daniel “Danny” Becnel. Danny Becnel offered Kevin a job during his clerkship and two days before he was to begin working, Danny sent Kevin to Charleston, South Carolina to work on the national lawsuits against Bridgestone/Firestone for their defective tires that caused injuries and/or death to numerous victims around the country.

During his years working with Danny Becnel and the Becnel Law Firm, LLC, Kevin worked on some of the largest complex cases in the country. He was counsel of record and/or served on subcommittees in the following Multidistrict Litigations: MDL No. 1373, In Re: Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. Tires Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1203, In Re Diet Drugs Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1401, In Re Sulzer Orthopedics, Inc. Hip and Knee Prosthesis Litigation, MDL No. 1407, In Re PPA Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1477, In Re Serzone Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1535, In Re Welding Rods Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1629, In Re Neurontin Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2226, In Re Darvon/Darvocet Products Liability Litigation and the Louisiana Norplant Products Liability class action.

Following Hurricane Katrina, Kevin filed more than 1,800 individual lawsuits on behalf of homeowners whose homes were damaged against their homeowners insurer, recovering additional insurance proceeds for these clients.
In addition to these cases, Kevin has litigated professional liability claims, construction cases, numerous severe injury claims, objections to political candidates, and attorney fee disputes.
